Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, joining a room, or otherwise using Multiplex, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Statement of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Accounts & Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to create a Multiplex account. Guests can join public or invited rooms without an account. You agree to provide accurate information when you register and to keep your login credentials secure.
Rooms & Hosting
Hosts control their own room's settings, including privacy, capacity, and moderation. Rooms are accessed with a six-character room code that hosts can regenerate at any time. Seat capacity is determined by the host's pricing tier: Matinee, Marquee, or Studio.
Content & Streaming Rights
You are solely responsible for having the rights to anything you stream in a Multiplex room, whether from your own computer, YouTube, Twitch, Kick, or any other connected platform. Multiplex does not host or distribute video content itself: it synchronizes playback and provides chat, voice, reaction, and direct message infrastructure around a picture you supply. Streaming content you do not have the right to play is prohibited and may result in suspension or termination of your account.
Payments, Tips & Subscriptions
Marquee and Studio subscriptions bill on a recurring monthly basis until canceled. Hosts keep 90% of tips and ticketed premiere revenue; Multiplex retains 10%. Payouts are issued weekly to the payment method on file. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact support for assistance.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use Multiplex to:
- Harass, threaten, or demean other users, or engage in hate speech.
- Stream or share illegal content of any kind.
- Circumvent a room's privacy settings, password, or capacity limits.
- Spam, scrape, or otherwise abuse the platform's infrastructure.
- Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
Moderation & Enforcement
Room hosts are responsible for moderating their own rooms and may remove or ban guests at their discretion. Multiplex may additionally suspend or terminate accounts or rooms that violate these Terms or our Statement of Use, with or without notice, depending on severity.
Intellectual Property
The Multiplex name, logo, and software are owned by Multiplex, Inc. You retain ownership of any content you create or upload, such as room art or chat messages, and grant Multiplex a limited license to host, transmit, and display that content solely to operate the service.
Third-Party Platforms
Integrations with YouTube, Twitch, Kick, and other third-party platforms are governed by those platforms' own terms of service. Multiplex is not responsible for the availability, content, or conduct of any third-party platform accessed through a room.
Disclaimers
Multiplex is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Multiplex, Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Termination
You may stop using Multiplex and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you violate these Terms, the Statement of Use, or applicable law.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Multiplex, Inc. is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through a notice on the service before they take effect. Continued use of Multiplex after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
