Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Multi-plex platform at multiplex.watch (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you are at least 13 years of age, or if you are under 13, that you have obtained your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service.
Description of Service
Multi-plex is a browser-based, account-free platform that allows users to create shared viewing rooms, invite others via a 6-character room code, and watch video content in synchronised real time. The Service includes:
- Room creation and management tools accessible without an account.
- Real-time playback synchronisation via WebSocket connections.
- In-room text chat for participants.
- A public room wall displaying rooms that hosts have made publicly discoverable.
- A newsletter subscription for platform updates (optional).
The Service is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice.
User Conduct
By using Multi-plex, you agree not to:
- Stream, share, or facilitate access to content that infringes any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right — including content distributed without the rights holder's authorisation (piracy).
- Use the Service to transmit any content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Harass, bully, or intimidate other users in chat or via room codes.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Service's infrastructure, WebSocket servers, or synchronisation mechanisms.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to create rooms, spam chat, or scrape the Service at scale.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Distribute malware, phishing links, or other harmful content through room chat or room names.
We reserve the right to terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these terms, without notice or liability.
Intellectual Property
The Multi-plex name, logo, interface design, and codebase are owned by Multi-plex and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our express written permission.
Content you stream or share via Multi-plex (video URLs, chat messages) is your responsibility. You represent that you have the necessary rights or permissions to share any content you introduce into a room. Multi-plex does not host, store, or serve video content — it only coordinates playback state.
Multi-plex respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content accessible via the Service infringes your copyright, please contact us at legal@multiplex.watch with details of the claim.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Multi-plex disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranty regarding the reliability, accuracy, or completeness of any content accessed through the Service.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Multi-plex and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, the above limitations may not apply to you in full, and our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms of Use.
Because Multi-plex is account-free, "termination" in practice means blocking your IP address or other technical identifier from accessing the Service. Such blocks may be lifted at our discretion.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Multi-plex is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory local consumer protection laws, those laws shall also apply.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do so. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via a notice on the home page or via newsletter.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
