Who This Applies To
This Statement of Use sets the community standards for everyone on Multiplex: hosts, guests, and anyone who joins a room, whether they have an account or not.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use Multiplex. Rooms and content are not moderated for a specific age rating, so hosts and guests should use judgment about what they queue and who they invite.
Respect the Room
Multiplex is a shared space. Harassment, hate speech, threats, and doxxing are never allowed, in any room, at any time, against anyone.
Content You Stream
You must own or have the right to play anything you queue, whether it comes from your own library or a third-party platform like YouTube, Twitch, or Kick. Multiplex is a synchronization and communication layer, not a content host: it does not store, distribute, or license the video you stream.
Voice, Chat & DMs
The same conduct standards that apply to a room's video extend to every other channel in Multiplex: open voice, live chat, reactions, and direct messages. Harassment or prohibited content in a DM is treated the same as harassment or prohibited content in a public room.
Host Responsibilities
Hosts are responsible for setting their room's privacy correctly, moderating their own audience, and honoring the seat capacity of their pricing tier. A host who repeatedly allows violations of this Statement of Use in their room may be held responsible alongside the individual violators.
Prohibited Content & Behavior
The following are never permitted on Multiplex:
- Illegal content of any kind.
- Content that endangers children.
- Non-consensual intimate material.
- Malware, phishing links, or other harmful code shared in chat or DMs.
- Spam or automated abuse of the platform.
- Creating new accounts to evade a ban.
Reporting & Enforcement
Every room includes an in-room report tool for flagging a user or message directly to our trust and safety team. We review reports and respond with consequences proportional to the violation, ranging from a warning to a permanent suspension of the account or room.
DMCA & Rights Holder Notices
If you are a rights holder and believe content streamed through Multiplex infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@multiplex.app that includes:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the infringing material and the room where it appeared, with enough detail for us to locate it.
- Your contact information, including name, address, phone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Changes to This Statement
We may update this Statement of Use as our community and product evolve. Material changes will be communicated by email or through a notice on the service.
