Build the room, not just the software.
We're a small team making synced playback, live chat, and a six-character code feel like walking into a theater. If that sounds like your kind of problem, we'd like to hear from you.
Milliseconds are the product.
Most of what we build is invisible when it works: a video frame landing at the same instant on six different screens, a chat message showing up before the reaction it's replying to fades. Get it right and nobody notices. Get it wrong and the whole room feels it at once.
That's the job here — chasing the parts of "watching together" that are easy to promise and hard to deliver, then shipping them to rooms that are live with real people in them, tonight, not in a staging environment.
What it's actually like.
-
You own the room you build
Features ship with a name attached, and that name watches them run in real rooms. No hand-off to a team that "does support" — if playback drifts at 2am on a Friday, you already know why.
-
Async by default, live when it counts
Most days run on writeups and pull requests, not meetings. We get in a room together for the decisions that need a room — the rest waits happily in a doc.
-
Reduced motion isn't a checkbox we skip
Every flourish we design comes with its stripped-down state built in the same pull request, not filed for later. Craft here means it works for the person who turns animation off, too.
-
We host our own rooms
Everyone here runs a Multiplex room for something they actually watch — a show, a match, a call. If a feature is annoying, we hit it before a host does.

Product Designer, Rooms
Design the screens hosts and their audiences live in — room themes, reactions, and the small motion details that make a room feel lived-in instead of loaded.

Community & Trust Lead
Set the house rules that keep a room a room: moderation tooling, report response, and the judgment calls that don't fit in a flowchart.

Support Engineer, The Booth
Answer the questions hosts ask right before a screening starts, and turn the recurring ones into fixes instead of macros.
Don't see your seat?
If none of these match what you do but you think you belong in the room anyway, start a general application with what you'd want to work on, or write to us at careers@multiplex.app instead. We read every one.
Ready when you are.
